We (my parents and myself) had a long standing tradition of sleeping out on Memorial Day. We got a tramp who knows when and when we did my parents got a tent (yup you read right) a tent to go with it. Now it has been years, I think Robbie and I slept out on Memorial Day when we first got married. So the tent hasn't seen the outside of the bag for some years now. Well Gramie and Bombie (as my monsters call them) asked if they might be able to sleep out in the tent on Memorial Day with the boys. Can you say CRAZY!!?? The boys were overjoyed and couldn't wait until they got to have that fun with Gramie and Bombie.

As you can tell they couldn't wait....They wanted to take a "Nap" out in the tent. There wasn't any napping at all!!! They sure did have fun waiting for Gramie and Bombie though!!!
Those of you who live in the lovely state of Utah know that it rains almost faithfully on Memorial Day or the night before. In our case it was the night before when the sleeping out in the tent was to take place. See no one had to work the next day!!! It was raining when Robbie and I put up the tent!! Oh yeah we were wet. It stopped we put the tent in the sun to dry, it did and so we put the tarp back on and it was all ready to be slept in. My parents arrived and the boys were suddenly TIRED!! We didn't let them get in right away, we watched a movie ate some cookies. All the while it was PORING RAIN outside. The tent was wet on the outside the inside was dry!!! The sleep over was on. We through on another tarp to help with the rain and got the inside all ready.

The picture isn't that great, everyone is in and set for the night the rain was still coming down!! It just looks like a big tarp!! It kept everyone dry!! That is what counts.

My dad kept telling me he couldn't believe he was sleeping out!!! I laughed and said you made the promise not me!! Noah was taking a potty break and wasn't out yet. They all kept warm and DRY!!!
Mommy and Daddy didn't have to sleep outside!! How did we luck out you might ask?? Have you ever slept on a tramp with that many people?? Can we say SQUISHED!!! I also have the excuse that my tummy is getting bigger (I am having a baby in Dec.) and my back hurts royally bad!! So we got to stay in the house. The rain did start to let up by the time everyone was in bed...SLEEPING!! I actually don't know what time they all settled down!! My mom said that they slept really well for them though. The boys were ready for my parents to come back the next night and sleep out. It didn't happen!!!
